Actually if you read the verse Budge it doesn't say that Saul never saw Jesus, it actually implies that he did. It says that the men saw no man and that when Saul his eyes were opened he saw no man. But before his eyes were closed he must have seen no man or why would it be pointed out that when his eyes were open he saw no man? If Saul never saw anyone at all, why would it be important that when his eyes were reopened he saw no man?

Acts Of Apostles 9
27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and told them how he had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken to him; and how in Damascus he had dealt confidently in the name of Jesus.
