So since you admit that ALL gifts haven't ceased, how do you determine which gifts are still applicable for the body of Christ. The gift of tongues has ceased according to you, has knowledge also vanished away? What about the gift of discernment, gift of miracles, gift of prophecy, gift of healing...what about the Word of Wisdom, Word of knowledge...have these all too ceased?

while I see the Holy Spirits gifts as an internla discssion it is amazing at how often they are misunderstood and actually caused division. the exact opposite effect they were to originally have which is to edify and build up the body.

Miracles and healings do in deed still happen but I have not meself seen these performed by a mans hands as we see in the scriptures. in other words "gold and silver have I not but what I do have I give you, in the name of Jesus Christ rise and walk". and immediately the person is fully and completely healed. this does not mean it cant I just have not seen it or heard of it today.

so much is spoken of the gift of tongues, yet it is the least of the gifts. yet in some pentecostal denoms this gift has been made the bench mark for having the Spirit. we rarely hear of the gift of giving. peopls specifically gifted with the resources and desire to give in abundence.

I think if arguing or division is caused it can not be of the spirit and best not discussed among brethren. the gifts are for the building up and not the separating of brethren.

Brother John
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16)
