your comments disturb me on a few levels

who choose your pastor or pastors for you that you have so little respect for them?

I would suggest that if you have false shepherds you dumpm them now and not just ignore them.

No one chose my pastors for me. I take responsibility for my own actions. I am not talking about my own pastor, most of the time...when I address the general issue of Evangelical Pastors.

Thanks for the suggestion. If it becomes applicable, I will.

I would like to cite a few sources on the problems that I have with many Pastors. Many of these books have been written over time...about Christian leaders who are either not leading or who are spiritually errant.

Unfortunately, that means that since they are Evangelical Christians, that we are talking about Evangelical CHristian Leaders who are going in the wrong direction.

None of these sources or authors are perfect. It is the fact however that their concerns continue not to be addressed, that concerns me most. I am sure that there probably is something to disagree with in every book. But I believe most of the material is very valid and merits serious attention and Biblical scrutiny

IF those who are truly interested in the facts of WHY I am and continue to be concerned about the spiritual state of the Evangelical Church, then they should take a look at those books and aquire the facts through good old reading and actual research of their own.

I find it impossible to read this material, which is accurate, documented, factual and footnoted, and not come away recognizing the truth that there are many things fundamentally wrong within the Evangelical Churches, and the main problem is that the Biblical Fundamentals are no longer taught.

I do not know what other conclusion I can come to - when I see the lack of discernment out there amongst evangelicals, I continue to learn about how many evangelical teenagers are drawn to cults,- than to come to the conclusion that there is something very wrong with what they are being taught or rather with what they are not taught.

Since the responsibility for spiritual oversight belongs to Pastors, and especially senior Pastors I do not know where else the responsibility should be...along with the blame.

I would like those who object to my objections (and I am not saying this is necessarily the case) to spend some time reading the research material & sources I have suggested or to offer alternatives for consideration.

Most of the people who often think that I am being overcritical of PAstors are often not aware of the sorry state of the Evangelical Church, and how far from its roots it has come.
