Where do I get this stuff, Schaffs histroy of the Christian church, Eerdmans History, C E Fausts history and not Chich

OK..............

Quote:
Pontifex Maximus was the title given to the high priest of the sun worshippers of which Constantine was the greatest in his day. a mosaic still exists to this day at the vatican of Christ portrayed as the sun god in his chariot

Constantine was originally a pagan, John, who later converted to Christianity, remember? As for the mosiac, please give me a good link to that, if possible...

I know of as so called "sun burst" behind the main altar in St. Peter's Church in Rome, many claim as a "pagan root" in Catholicism, but the simple explanation is the "light of the holy Spirit"shiming down upon all.

I last said:

And as I recall, the emperor Constantine, before he became a Christian, had this title. But let us explore this further:

Quote:
before he became a Christian? when was that. he first banishes all the Arian bishops from the kingdom. 7 years later invites them back under his protection and even had one of them baptize him. so if anything he was baptized an Araian and not a Christian

That is why he is called "Constantine, the Great!" :)

And Yes William in ignorence

Oh well, the ad hominems continue...

By the way, Constantine is credited for allowing Christianity to expand as it did! Constantine alone? No, as I think the holy Spirit did a little guidance here. He may have not been the best Christian in the world, waiting until his death bed before he was baptized, but the Lord sure did use this man for His purposes, don't you think, Elder John? :)

God bless,
