I have already stated that trying to understand God in the way we have been discussing lately is pretty much futile. How could Mary give birth to Jesus but not God? How could Jesus die but we know God did not die?

I will answer these questions in a moment.

But first, continuing with your post....

The Catholics seem to have the most trouble with this...

LOL! now THAT is a laugh riot, John.

We Catholics have the LEAST trouble with it. We have declared and continue to procalim that Jesus is the Eternal Son who became fully man.

We have the definitions of Hypostatic Union and Incarnation as "barricades" against:

* heresy that denies the Divinity of Jesus, declaring that Jesus was a prophet only.

* heresy that denies the humanity of Jesus, declaring he was Immanuel in a not-truly human body

Now I shall answer your questions which are NOT trouble for us Catholics.

"How could Mary give birth to Jesus but not God?

Jesus is the Eternal Second Person of the Blessed Trinity.
He never "stopped" being God.

This includes the 9 months when He grew within Mary's womb, as all humans grow within their mothers' wombs.

(Galatians 4:4)

See that, John? NO problem.

How could Jesus die but we know God did not die?

Jesus is the Eternal Second Person of the Blessed Trinity.
He never "stopped" being God. And Jesus did die.

See that, John? Again, NO problem.

Let's continue with your post.

The Catholics seem to have the most trouble with this but we all know its because it would lower Mary to human status and down from the deity pedestal they have placed her on.

You continue with this lie, John.

You know that the Catholic Church does NOT proclaim Mary is deity. You know that the Catholic Church proclaims that Mary is fully human, who found favor from God her Saviour.

Continuing with your post.

If we can not separate the humanity and deity of Jesus.

There is NO "if", John. We cannot separate the humanity and Deity of Jesus. He is the Eternal Son, the Word who became flesh.

How is it Jesus said to blaspheme Him is something that can be forgiven but to blaspheme the Holy Spirit is the unforgivable sin???????????????????????????????

Just curious what you all think!

Now this is a good question, John.
One which I will get back to you on.
