Okay, Radar said that she and Quo had answered Elder John's question.

So, I went back up and looked at their answers. This is quo's:

"Because Jesus is a different person than the Holy Spirit. You have heard of the doctrine of the Trinity havent you?"

this is interesting! In my post, I showed, using Acts chapter five, that lying to the HOly Ghost could constitute death.

Okay, so now we have lying to the HOly Ghost that could lead to death, and blaspheme the Holy Ghost that could lead to eternal damnation.

But, Jesus said that blaspheme Him can be forgiven, but the not the Holy Ghost.

Quo said that Jesus is a different person than the HOly Spirit.

Well, Guess who God is?

Acts 5:3

"But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?"

Ananias lied and he died.

Why? Because he lied to the Holy Ghost! And who is that Holy Ghost?

Acts 5:5

"Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why has thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou has not lied unto men, but unto God."

But as quo says, Jesus is a different person than the Holy Ghost, thus Jesus is a different person than God.

"God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." John 4:24

Let's examine a chapter in II Corinthians, 3:

"Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart.

And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:

Not that we are sufficient of ourselvs to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;" 3-4

Then it goes onto speak about the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones. And also talks about the ministration of condemnation.

then it goes on down to talk about Moses, and the vail over his face, and the reading of the O.T.

And how unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon the heart.

Then it defines, the above verses, the Spirit of the Living God:

"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." II Cor. 3:17

God is Spirit; thus the HOly Spirit.

So, knowing that blaspheme the HOly Spirit is blaspheme against God, since God is that Spirit, then why would it be forgiven if they blaspheme Jesus? After all, He is God too!

Still didn't fully answer!

Then radar answers:

"By the time Jesus said that it was forgivable to blaspheme Him, but unforgivable to blaspheme the Holy Spirit, He knew He was God. But He related to the humans around Him, and He was distinguishing between blaspheming a human and blaspheming God. Most of the people listening didn't yet know He was God - many thought He was the messiah, but they didn't expect the messiah to be divine. If Jesus had said, "You can blaspheme each other, but don't dare blaspheme Me or the Holy Spirit," they would have missed the point entirely."

I am not touching this one!

I liked to know how this theory came about! Jesus was relating to the humans, and so it is okay to blaspheme the humans.

Well, According to acts chapter 5, when Ananias and his wife lied to the apostles, the Bible said that they didn't lie to man, they lied to God.

and they were killed! Struck dead! Dropped Dead!

So, if you go up and blaspheme a christian, who is human, then you will be blaspheme the HOly Spirit, because the Spirit of God dwells in them.

Anways, I am not going to continue. Too Far out there!

So, the answer wasn't still answered!

Although, I know where elder john is going with this.

thus, make you think:

1. Cannot blaspheme the Holy Spirit, you are in danger of eternal damnation,

Why?

Because the Holy Spirit is God.

2. But so is Jesus?

So why would it be forgiven to blaspheme Him, and not the Holy Spirit?

They are all one? Amen?!

So what could that answer be?

In Christ,

Deborah
