You two Deb. I am ok. Its been too cold to go outside so I have cabin fever. I tried to go out in 17 degrees other day bad idea, I got very sick. Uh oh but hubby has had some use it or lose it time and been home with me so its been more fun.

"I still remember wondering if skipping Mass because I was tired or it was cold--would mean I would go to hell."

This brings up something that hubby seen in our local paper. He was looking at the adds for jobs, for those memorials and things like that. There was an add for a catholic church. And at the bottom it said, "If you miss mass on Sunday you will go to hell."

Oh boy I remember that. The guilt. I can miss church if I am sick and if its cold outside. Sometimes its a crap shoot. I have made decision to go and have had to leave due to illness. My church understands why I go poof! for most of Jan and some of Feb and in the summer. They are good about it. I think when people are taught they will go to hell for missing a Mass or two, it turns God into an ogre.
God is merciful. If someone is a saved Christian, missing a church servive is not going to consign them to hell.

I forgot to tell everyone! Last Sunday was our first Church service. 15 people showed up. Amen?! We Praised God for that!

Praise God! Every church starts off small. Mine was teeny-tiny in their early days something like 20. We have 80 now.

I pulled them out and he said, "Oh, give me a few!" He took all the bulletines, (about 10) and he took about 25 business cards. He is telling everyone who use to come to this church that they need to come back!

Very good! I invite who I can to my church with me. Other newbies have come in. I found my church in phone book and was drawn there. Knew I wanted a Bible believing church so I had called up pastors and I am so happy I found my church.

GLORY TO GOD FOR YOUR CHURCH GROWING AND THERE WILL BE GOOD THINGS AHEAD:)

I know my church has a bunch of volunteers to keep it running. I am supposed to buy some salad tongs for the church kitchen when I am able to get out of the house;) Pray for some convicted believers to come and help you. I will pray too.

I am happy that things are going well, keep praying, keep working for the Lord, your church will be a good one. There are churches here who started out so tiny. I havent told anyone here this yet but even my church is only 3 years old, Deb. They started a few years ago and had just bought the building 6 months before I made my first appearacne. Before they had to meet in a public rented place.

1. Hubby called the guy, and they were talking. this man said, "We had a guess speaker come in and said that our Church was the Little brown church in the wildwood."

Amen?! Husband's mouth drops! He said, that is wild! My wife has been practicing that song for over a week.

Wow that is awesome!:)

2. Another confirmation was that the pastor prior to the one who split the churhc was a baptist preacher. He preached only The Word. The people loved him.

3. This is a King James only church. No other Bible is welcomed.

It sounds like my church. We are Baptist independent and we are KJV only too. No other BIbles welcomed. I and ministers wife have read The New Age versions together and discussed power and beauty of KJV as compared to other Bibles.

My grandmother was a born-again christian. No kidding! But, when she married husband, she assumed that he would attend her church. But that didn't happen. So, she ended up in the Catholic churhc with grandpa. She stayed in the catholic church until he died.

then she would watch t.v. evgangelists, being too old to get out. Now, she always used the King James Bible. Never the catholic Bible. I have a few of her Bibles. She also studied the Bible. She loved it, and could quote it.

Ive heard of spouses doiung this. Maybe she made this decision for peace in the home, hoping she could get husband saved even if she couldnt get him out. I have known people in that situation in the RCC. There was this one lady I felt bad for who was wanting to join a Penecoastal church but whose husband told her she had to be Catholic :0
I dont know what I thought of that. I beleive wives should follow husbands leadership but overall God should be obeyed first!

Sorry your grandma died when you probably needed her more. I am sure she is with God now and as a saved Christian certainly didnt need any prayers to get out of the false place Purgatory! THe RCC does charge money for prayers and Mases. Ive had relatives pay money for Masses for the dead. Sounds like your Dad knew that your grandmother was saved.
My dad always says, you are just like your grandma. I am glad your Dad got saved and is now out of the RCC. Im praying for my family.

You are in the born again church your Grandma attended...wow! :)

I am glad your Dad was generous and gave your grandmas house for you to live in and it all worked out for the good of God!

PRaise God! Keep telling me how your church does:)
