Budge,

Why didn't you simply check the "facts" that YOU posted first? Aren't you tacitly admitting that you have no idea about what you are posting, no idea of how to research this stuff, and yet you still post it anyway?

"Im not a historian and even online you are limited. I have been looking for complete books of Augustine--they dont have those in rural libraries. I could go to town on this board, if I had access to some of the university resources I used to have."

Blah, blah, blah. I could say the same thing. What happened to that wonderful library you claimed to have? Why is it that I never seem to struggle to find published information to refute your nonsense? The real issue is your desire to avoid old-fashioned hard work and intellectual integrity. Notice, you posted something that you can't even verify. Did you even hesitate to post it?

"I used to hang out on Loyolas campus library and read their books. Then I was researching my non-religious related project. Couldnt check anything out but public could read the books if we are quiet and didnt cause trouble"

Blah, blah, blah = translation: Budge doesn't have a clue and should be excused when she posts nonsense because she doesn't know how to, or is incapable of, checking anything.

"You probably have a whole historical library and your textbooks from college at the very least."

And you claim to have a wonderful library too -- or at least you did. What happened to it? Aren't you now admitting you've got zip in the way of background, ability, and resources?

"Everyone keeps saying Boettner is a liar."

Was a liar. He's dead.

"What lie. Except for the silly stuff about candles (people needed light in the 400s)what lie did Boettner write?"

Almost everything. His book is so filled with lies, distortions, misrepresentations, etc that at least one can be found on almost every page. I am not kidding. I actually read his book several years ago and was stunned by the number of lies, etc. I thought about cataloging them, but there were too many.
