Doug, none of the very early Christians had the New Testament because it had not been written. Many of the Second Century churches only had part of what we today call the NT. At that, copies of the OT were few and hard to come by.

Now with that, what do you mean by "saved?" Most people in the world today are not what we would commonly term "Christians." For example, Islam runs neck and neck now with Christianity as the world's largest religion.

What happens to Muslims when they die? Are they "saved?"
