I am witnessing to non-Christian. Pinning down their exact belief system hasnt happened. They say they arent a New Ager but intersting in physic research . I told them I would be talking to other Christians about this.
Often times I have atheists tell me that God comes across as cruel in the OT. With some reading I learned that God ordered the vanquishing of enemies of Israel because they were out to destroy Israel too....but how does one give a good explanation for verses such as these when trying to lead someone into the Christian faith? They told me these verses made God's prophets basically to be cruel--paraphrasing.
I want to say in a way that makes sense so please help me out, ALL of ya....
Verses he gave me dont think they are from KJV maybe NKJV

As for your male and female slaves whom you may have: you may buy male and female slaves from among the nations that are round about you. 45 You may also buy from among the strangers who sojourn with you and their families that are with you, who have been born in your land; and they may be your property. 46 You may bequeath them to your sons after you, to inherit as a possession for ever; you may make slaves of them, but over your brethren the people of Israel you shall not rule, one over another, with harshness.
